BewhY Posts Cryptic Message Targeting Kim Min-seok: "Don't Hang the South Korean National Flag Upside Down"

[Sportschosun Reporter Jo Min-jeong] A short post by rapper BewhY, accompanied by a photo of the South Korean national flag, has sparked a range of interpretations online.

On the 25th, BewhY uploaded an image of the South Korean national flag to his social media account and wrote, "Don't hang the South Korean national flag upside down." He did not add any explanation or background, but the post quickly spread online after it was made public, drawing attention.

Some online users linked the post to the recent controversy over a national flag badge being worn upside down. Earlier, Prime Minister Kim Min-seok drew criticism after official photos showed him wearing a South Korean national flag badge upside down during a visit to Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, on the 23rd. Political circles later saw a wave of criticism and explanations over the incident.

BewhY has also drawn attention in the past for expressing his views on social issues through music and interviews.

A new song he released in May included part of former President Syngman Rhee's voice and an "anti-communism" message, prompting political interpretations and sparking various opinions about the lyrics.

In June, he appeared on a YouTube channel and mentioned the National Election Commission (NEC), saying, "If there are concerns that the public finds suspicious, resolving them is what makes a healthy society," and added, "A climate that labels people as conspiracy theorists simply for having doubts is not desirable."
