[Sportschosun Reporter Jeong An-ji] Kim Ki-ri and Moon Ji-in spoke candidly about the pain of miscarriage and the long journey that eventually led them to a natural pregnancy after IVF treatment.
On the 27th episode of MBN's "Dongchimi," the expectant parents appeared and opened up about their difficult path to pregnancy.
That day, Moon said, "I struggled with impatience on the way to becoming a parent."
She recalled, "Before marriage, I had a prenatal checkup, and the chances of natural conception were very low. Back then, I wasn't impatient. Then, six months after our wedding, I became pregnant naturally. I accepted the news with a smile."
But the joy did not last long. Moon said, "Not long after that, I had a miscarriage." She added, "I am not usually the type to cry, and I tend to stay calm, but that was the first time I realized what sadness really felt like. From that point on, I became impatient."
Kim, who watched beside her, also looked back on that painful time. He said, "I did not know miscarriage would hurt this much physically and emotionally." He added, "When I see people who overcome miscarriage and go on to have children, I feel so grateful."
The couple later tried IVF, but they faced another set of difficulties. Moon explained, "What was hardest during IVF was how much my body hurt." She continued, "If you fail every month, that means 12 disappointments in a year. I got angry and stopped the treatment midway. The results were so bad that I gave up."
She said, "I had decided to take the long road, and then I became pregnant naturally." The studio erupted in congratulations and applause.
