[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Broadcaster Kim Na-young shed tears after reading letters from her two sons while spending her first Parents' Day since registering her marriage with her husband, MY Q.
On the 28th, Kim Na-young's YouTube channel, "Kim Na-young's No Filter TV," released a video titled "The Day We Registered Our Marriage."
In the video, Kim Na-young visited Yongsan-gu Office, Seoul, and registered her marriage with MY Q. She excitedly said, "We finally came to register our marriage," and MY Q drew laughter when he added, "There are big benefits if you do things like airline mileage and car insurance as a married couple."
Kim Na-young responded, "You're incredibly thrifty," and MY Q expressed his affection by saying, "I wanted this from day one." After completing the registration, Kim Na-young could not hide her joy, saying, "There's no turning back now. It can't be canceled." MY Q later celebrated the new beginning by giving her a bouquet of tulips, her favorite flowers.
The biggest emotional moment came on their first Parents' Day. Kim Na-young and MY Q were moved to tears as they read letters prepared by their two sons, Lee Joon and Shinwoo. Lee Joon first handed over a letter that said, "Thank you for raising me, Mom and Dad. Let's live happily," and then added in English, "Mom always supports me and makes me happy," and "I would never choose anyone over Mom, even over soccer," bringing smiles to their faces.
Shinwoo added to the emotion with a heartfelt letter to MY Q. He wrote, "Dad is the best father, someone who comforts me and makes me happy," and "He never gives up on me." He also recalled a family trip to the United States and confessed, "I feel most complete when we spend time together as one family."
After hearing the letters, MY Q burst into tears again, and Kim Na-young also wiped away her tears. MY Q said, "I think this is the first time in my life I have felt this happy." Kim Na-young added, "This may be the first Parents' Day that Shinwoo and Lee Joon have experienced comfortably." She explained, "Until last year's Parents' Day, the children could not call MY Q 'Dad.' They called him 'Uncle' then. So even when they were writing the letters, they probably did not feel fully at ease about how to write them." She continued, "This time, it felt like they were truly able to write letters to Mom and Dad comfortably for the first time, which made it even more touching."
MY Q said, "I need to do better. I want to be more affectionate, spend more time together, and love them more."
The couple also revealed what has changed since registering their marriage. Kim Na-young said, "Now that we've registered our marriage, it feels like we don't let fights go all the way to the end." MY Q replied, "It means we've become more generous with each other." Kim Na-young then said, "It's not because we're too lazy to argue. I think we just come to acknowledge each other. Because it's love, we end up recognizing each other," showing a stronger family bond.
Meanwhile, Kim Na-young divorced in 2019 after four years of marriage and has raised her two sons on her own. She later began a public relationship with MY Q in December 2021, and the couple held their wedding ceremony last October.
