Eli Remarries 6 Years After Divorce as Ex-Wife Ji Yeon-soo Reveals the Reality of Child Support: "850,000 Won Is Far Too Little"

[Sportschosun, Kim Soo-hyun] Broadcaster Ji Yeon-soo spoke candidly about the child support she receives from her ex-husband Eli, formerly of U-KISS.

On the 29th, a video titled "Ji Yeon-soo's Thoughts on Child Support from Her Ex-Husband!" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Yeonsurobda.

That day, Ji Yeon-soo took questions about divorce-related concerns and offered direct advice.

Speaking to single mothers carrying all kinds of worries, she responded to a story titled "An ex-husband who is behind on child support but shows off luxury goods on social media," saying, "It's his personal money, so there is nothing I can do. In the end, the only option is to take it to court."

She added, "But child support is money that goes toward a child as they grow up, so it is the child's right. Yet no matter how much you argue with an ex-spouse, they act as if they are giving their own money to this woman. Men need to change that way of thinking," and criticized ex-husbands who resent paying child support.

Ji Yeon-soo also said, "But how are you supposed to change that? They really hate paying it," expressing disbelief.

There was also a separate standard for setting child support. Ji Yeon-soo explained, "The child support calculation table is from years ago. Prices keep rising, but the table is still inadequate, so the amount is far too low."

She went on to say, "I receive 850,000 won from my ex-husband Eli. But the minimum child support is 640,000 won. That is for the youngest child," and noted that payments are made until the child graduates from high school.

After a brief pause, Ji Yeon-soo said, "Can I be completely honest about this?" She added, "You have to let go and live. If you keep thinking about it, I am the only one who ends up collapsing."

She offered practical advice, saying, "Rather than clinging to child support, it is more realistic for me to start a part-time job as soon as possible." She also said that after her divorce, she worked part-time because the child support was not enough.

Meanwhile, Ji Yeon-soo married Eli, who is 11 years younger than her, in 2014 and gave birth to a son in 2016, but the couple divorced in 2020. Ji Yeon-soo retained custody and parental rights. The two later appeared together on TV Chosun's We Got Divorced 2 and even left open the possibility of reconciliation, but they eventually went their separate ways.

Against that backdrop, Eli recently drew attention by announcing a surprise remarriage six years after the divorce.
