"Like a Five-Minute Standby Team..." Divorced Choi Dong-seok Feels Bitter and Touched Watching His Parents Care for Their Grandson

[Sportschosun Reporter Kim Soo-hyun] Broadcaster Choi Dong-seok shared a glimpse of the time he spent with his family after meeting his son for the first time in a while.

On the 29th, Choi said, "The child will be staying for about 10 days, so the adults are happy. But they love their youngest grandson so much that my parents are taking care of him like they are on standby 24/7..." He expressed a bittersweet feeling as he described his parents' affectionate behavior.

Choi is currently meeting his children through visitation after divorcing his former wife, Park Ji-yoon. He was said to have enjoyed spending time with his son, whom he had not seen in a while.

He also said he felt deeply moved while watching his parents see their grandson again after a long time.

Later, Choi showed his devotion to his parents by personally cooking abalone porridge for them.

He said, "After sending the child off yesterday afternoon, I thought it was my turn to do something for my parents this morning, so I made abalone porridge. Older people have weaker digestion, and there is no better nourishing dish for a hot summer day."

He added, "After sending my son off... when the child comes, my mother also has a hard time. A morning spent making abalone porridge for my mother."

Meanwhile, Choi married Park Ji-yoon, his KBS colleague, in 2009 and had two children with her. The couple divorced in 2023 after 14 years of marriage.

Park Ji-yoon currently has custody and parental rights, while Choi Dong-seok meets the children through visitation.
