[Sportschosun Jang Jong-ho] Airport equipment that was blown away by sudden strong winds at an airport in India struck three passenger planes.
No injuries were reported, as there were no passengers inside the equipment or the aircraft at the time.
According to local media, including India News, strong rain and wind hit the apron at Terminal 2 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, around 4:40 p.m. on the 6th local time.
As a result, a mobile passenger boarding staircase lost control and was pushed by the wind into an aircraft.
The video also showed ground staff in fluorescent safety vests rushing after the equipment in an attempt to stop it.
A ground support vehicle left unattended without a driver was also pushed by the strong wind toward aircraft parked on the apron.
The accident damaged three Air India passenger planes. Two sustained minor damage, while the third was more seriously damaged and is expected to take several weeks to repair.
Airport officials said the equipment had been secured, but the fastenings appear to have come loose in the severe weather.
