[Sportschosun Reporter Jang Jong-ho] A Tigerair passenger plane, a low-cost carrier from Taiwan, made an emergency landing at an airport in Japan on the 12th.
According to Japanese media, including Hokkaido Broadcasting Co., Ltd., Tigerair flight TTW 234, which departed from Taipei and was bound for Sapporo, declared an emergency shortly before landing at around 10:50 a.m. that day.
The pilot reportedly said that smoke had briefly appeared in the cockpit.
New Chitose Airport had fire trucks and ambulances on standby. Fortunately, the incident did not develop into a fire.
The aircraft, which came to a stop on the runway, was inspected for a time. No passengers or crew members were reported injured.
Aviation authorities and the airline are investigating the cause of the incident.
