At the 2026 Global OTT Awards, 'Made in Korea' had the honor of winning Best Director and Best Supporting Actor. Director Woo Min-ho, who achieved unrivaled cinematic perfection with his weighty directing skills, won the Best Director award, further heightening anticipation for Season 2, which is set to be released in the second half of this year. Director Woo Min-ho shared his acceptance speech, saying, "'Made in Korea' is set in Busan in the 1970s, and I consider it a great honor to receive an award at the Global OTT Awards held in Busan. This was my first time filming a drama, and I filmed it trusting our actors, especially Hyun Bin.
I want to say thank you very much, and I am grateful to all the actors and staff. " Previously, 'Made in Korea' sparked an explosive global box office sensation by claiming the title of most-watched not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also worldwide among Disney+ Korean Original releases scheduled for 2025. Following this, Jung Sung-il took home the Best Supporting Actor award for his restrained charisma as Cheon Seok-jung, the Chief of the Presidential Security Service who harbors ambition while enjoying the favor of the VIP, portraying the very embodiment of living power.
