[Sportschosun Jung Bit] Charles Enter has spoken about future broadcast plans and the name under which she will work.
At the production presentation for Netflix's daily entertainment show Love Experiment, held on the 23rd at the Stanford Hotel in Seoul's Sangam-dong, Charles Enter said, "I won't be doing television anymore," but added, "I will continue using the name Charles."
Love Experiment is a dating observation show that captures the instinctive awakening of participants' romantic feelings after they are thrown into unimaginable and bizarre situations.
In particular, attention is focused on the fact that it is a new dating show from producer Lee Jin-joo, who won widespread love for the distinctive concept, stylish direction, and detailed portrayal of relationships in the Transit Love series and My Sibling's Romance.
Lee said, "When we were discussing Transit Love or My Sibling's Romance, there were ideas like, 'Wouldn't it be nice to make a show like this?' But both programs also had the drawback of needing to follow 10 people over a long period. I think it's great that we can work with a variety of people."
Another point drawing attention is the pairing of Monsta X's Jooheon and Charles Enter, two masters of reaction. Jooheon, who combines overwhelming charisma on stage with witty banter, and Charles Enter, a leading figure among the so-called 'overly immersed' dating-show fans who has captivated countless viewers with her exceptional emotional investment, are expected to create perfect synergy as an observer duo.
Regarding Charles Enter's casting, Lee said, "We were looking for Charles Enter's reactions. I thought I wanted to take on a new challenge with Love Experiment. I told her because I thought it would create a fresh kind of picture."
Charles Enter said firmly, "I had no intention of working as a broadcaster, but I joined because this was a program I really wanted to do. Unless it's a show I really, really want to do in the future, I plan to continue as a YouTuber, and I have no intention of working as a broadcaster."
She added with a laugh, "I shouldn't say this, but I work with people based on who they are. I did this thanks to Producer Lee Jin-joo, and if it's Producer Lee Jin-joo in the future, I would do it again. If they are considerate when I appear on a show, I think I might do it."
When asked about her stage name, she said, "I hadn't really thought about it. I want to use Charles on television. The channel name Charles Enter felt a bit like SM Entertainment. From now on, I will work as Charles."
Love Experiment will premiere its first and second episodes together on Netflix at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17.
