[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young, Reporter] Actor Shin Min-a said, "While acting with my eyes covered, I also felt a sense of fear."
A press and distribution screening for the suspense thriller film "The Eyes" (directed by Yeom Ji-ho, produced by Dream Capture) was held on the afternoon of the 15th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Shin Min-a, who took on a dual role as Seo-jin, a photographer who is gradually losing her sight to hereditary optic neuropathy while investigating the death of her twin sister, and Seoin, Seo-jin's twin sister who overcomes blindness to become a successful ceramic artist but dies under mysterious circumstances. Kim Nam-hee also attended as Do-hyeok, the detective in charge who follows Seoin's death while serving as Seo-jin's eyes despite being wary of her obsession, along with director Yeom Ji-ho.
Shin Min-a, who portrayed a visually impaired character, confessed, "I tried to focus on the part where she gradually loses her sight. I made various attempts, such as changing the position of my eyes. I tried to express the details that Seo-jin has now. In the latter part, I acted with a bandage over my eyes, and even in real life my hearing became sharper. I could feel the fear that comes from that. I empathized with a character placed in a frightening and difficult situation. I hope the fear I felt will be conveyed well to the audience."
"The Eyes" tells the story of a protagonist who is gradually losing her sight to a hereditary disease and comes face to face with the truth while uncovering the suspicions surrounding her twin sister's death. The film stars Shin Min-a, Kim Nam-hee, Lee Seung-ryong, and Kim Young-ah, and was directed by Yeom Ji-ho of "The Neighbor." It opens on the 24th.
