In a video uploaded in December last year to the YouTube channel Good Shamans, Myeong Doryeong conducted a blind fortune-telling session, looking at Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young's compatibility and future based only on their birth dates.
In the video, Myeong Doryeong described Jung Kyung-ho's fate chart by saying, "He is stubborn and a perfectionist, but he has a deep sense of affection and tries to live the right way." He then said of Choi Soo-young, "She has a free spirit, is stubborn, and wants others to adjust to her unilaterally."
Looking at the couple's relationship, Myeong Doryeong said, "It seems like they have dated for a long time and meet like friends, but I don't see marriage luck." He added, "It will be hard for this to lead to marriage. A breakup sign is coming, so marriage looks difficult, and I think they may split up soon."
The fortune-telling video drew renewed attention on the 9th, after an official breakup report said that Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young, after 14 years of public dating, had grown distant because of busy schedules and decided to return to being good colleagues.
As reactions poured in that the prediction about a possible breakup after a long relationship had matched reality, the video has continued to attract attention.
Myeong Doryeong had also drawn attention earlier for mentioning related developments before various controversies surrounding Park Na-rae came to light.
At the time, while reading Park Na-rae's fate chart, he said, "She has a strong sense of vanity and greed, and a sudden disgrace will come, putting her in the public eye." He added, "Her once-positive image could collapse in an instant, and she may become embroiled in controversy and fall to the bottom of her fortune, slipping into the minor leagues without anyone noticing."
As a series of issues surrounding Park Na-rae later surfaced one after another, online reactions such as "Did he even predict Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young's breakup?", "It's amazing to think it was just a coincidence," and "A video from six months ago became a holy site" have brought the clip back into the spotlight.
However, some also say fortune-telling and fate-chart interpretations reflect the shaman's personal views and readings, and should be taken as entertainment and reference rather than as objective proof or a definitive prediction of the future.
