On the 9th, a video titled "Seo In-young Reveals Her Feelings About Marriage for the First Time (Misunderstandings and Truths, Wedding)" was uploaded to the YouTube channel "Seo In-young's Gaegwacheonseon."
Seo In-young, who is set to marry later this year her fiancé, a co-CEO of the content creative company NP, six years her senior, spoke candidly about everything from their first meeting to why she decided to remarry.
That day, the producer said, "Looking at the reactions, some comments say, 'Just date,' or 'Being divorced once is hard, but being divorced twice is easy.'"
Seo In-young laughed and replied, "Well, that could happen. But that doesn't mean I can just not get married. I still crave love."
As for comments like, "Why get married if it's just about love?" she confessed, "If it weren't for my current boyfriend, I wouldn't have even thought about marriage. I had given up on marriage, and my depression was severe. I was drinking every day."
She added, "After meeting my current boyfriend, I started to trust again. I didn't want to hurt him, so I wanted to give him certainty instead."
She also spoke frankly about living together. Seo In-young said, "People around me say, 'Just live together and decide later,' but my family would have a hard time accepting that." She added, "Before, I was the type who wanted to sign the papers first because I was afraid I might change my mind. This time, I wanted to reassure my boyfriend instead."
What drew the most attention was her response to malicious comments about her remarriage. When the producer said, "The most hurtful comment was, 'Let's see how many months this one lasts.' If it were me, I'd be scared," Seo In-young laughed and answered, "Yeah, I don't know that either," drawing laughter.
She went on to say, "Still, this time I really want to try to live well. Please don't misunderstand me too much. I always try my best sincerely." She added, "I didn't get divorced because I cheated, did I?"
She also laid out her plans after marriage, saying, "Nothing about my life will change. I'll keep working hard and stay in touch through YouTube." She continued, "Getting married doesn't mean I can't perform at WATERBOMB Music Festival, does it? I'll keep standing on stage. I still don't have any plans for children."
She also pushed back against the assumption that she was marrying to have children quickly, saying, "That's not true. Right now, I have people I need to protect, and I'm satisfied with working and communicating with my fans. I'll think about plans step by step."
Meanwhile, Seo In-young married a non-celebrity businessman in 2023, but after the wedding she was repeatedly caught up in divorce rumors. The marriage ultimately ended in November the following year. Now, about two years later, she is preparing for a new chapter in her life once again after announcing her remarriage.
