[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Actor Heo Nam-jun spoke candidly about his looks.
On the 10th, a video featuring Heo Nam-jun, the lead actor of the SBS drama "My Royal Nemesis," was released on the YouTube channel "YouTube Haji-young."
That day, Haji-young asked, "Did you think 'My Royal Nemesis' would be a hit?" Heo Nam-jun answered without hesitation, "I thought it would do well."
He said, "It was so fun from the moment I first read the script. After that, the next episodes kept coming out, and the more I read, the more interesting it became. The atmosphere on set was also really good." He added, "As we got closer to the later episodes, I kept telling Ji-young noona, 'I think our project is going to do well.'"
Along with the drama's popularity, Heo Nam-jun's well-built physique also drew attention. Haji-young made everyone laugh by saying, "When people think of Heo Nam-jun, they think of shirtless scenes. At this point, it feels like being shirtless and Heo Nam-jun are basically equal."
Heo Nam-jun explained, "Actually, our drama originally didn't have any shirtless scenes." He added, "They were added while revising the script to reflect the elements that got a good response in my previous work." He then laughed and said, "Once I took my shirt off once, scenes where I had to keep taking it off just kept coming in."
When asked, "What does being shirtless mean to Heo Nam-jun?" he jokingly replied, "Maybe something even more important than acting." That drew laughter on set. When asked whether his next project would also include a shirtless scene, he nodded. Seeing that, Haji-young joked, "At this point, it feels like there must be a separate shirtless clause in Heo Nam-jun's contract."
Heo Nam-jun also spoke honestly about how he sees his own appearance. When Haji-young asked, "Do you think you're handsome?" he firmly answered, "Absolutely not."
He continued, "I think a lot of people would agree with me." He explained, "There is a certain kind of face people usually think of as handsome. Someone like senior Won Bin is truly a handsome face."
Still, he showed confidence in his own charm. Heo Nam-jun said, "I don't think I'm handsome, but I do think I have charm." He added, "My jaw is decent, and my eyes are good too. Especially when I act, I think my eyes are good."
