[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, showed off his lively wit as he shared stories about Korean company dinners and even his love story with his wife.
On the October 10 episode of tvN (Total Variety Network)'s "You Quiz on the Block," Jensen Huang, the head of the global semiconductor company NVIDIA, appeared on the show. His first-ever variety show appearance drew major attention, and he captured viewers with his warm charm and sharp sense of humor.
That day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, "How was it yesterday when you had samgyeopsal and soju, plus chicken, in Hongdae?" With a bright smile, Jensen Huang replied, "It was so good. I tried samgyeopsal for the first time yesterday, and it was really amazing. I still keep thinking about it."
When the conversation turned to alcohol, Huang sounded confident. He said, "I can drink well. I have a pretty high tolerance," and drew laughs by looking completely unfazed the day after the dinner.
When Yoo asked, "Who cooked the samgyeopsal?" Huang answered, "We all did."
He added with a playful tone, "Koo Kwang-mo, who was the youngest and also the chairman of the LG Group, did a lot of the grilling," but said, "Still, it was everyone's job." He then joked, "I was the oldest person there, so I also ate the most," sending the studio into laughter.
When asked whether he would choose samgyeopsal or chicken, Huang joked, "After last night, choosing is impossible." He added, "Last night, I dipped the pork belly in sesame oil and salt, and it was so delicious. I can still taste it," once again making everyone laugh.
Huang also talked about his trademark leather jacket style that day. He said, "I wear it because my wife tells me to," and added, "Every piece of clothing I wear is bought by my wife," expressing his affection. He then revealed, "I haven't gone shopping since I met my wife when I was 17," drawing more laughter.
He also shared the story of how he first met his wife. Huang said, "We met at university. I was the youngest student to enter college at 17," and recalled, "At the time, there were only three women among 250 students."
He went on to say, "It took courage. The thing I was most confident about was my grades, so I told my wife, 'Want to see my homework?' and 'I'll get you straight A's this semester,'" sharing how he boldly pursued her from their first meeting and drawing big laughs.
His efforts eventually paid off. Huang said they dated every weekend after that. He added that they eventually got married and have been together for more than 40 years, showing deep affection for his wife.
