[Sportschosun Reporter Kim So-hee] Actor Shin Hyun-joon will reveal his deep affection for the children he had later in life, showing the side of a devoted "daughter-loving" father.
Shin Hyun-joon and his wife, Kim Kyung-mi, will appear together on the 29th episode of MBN's "Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night," which airs on Saturday the 13th. The couple will become the show's first-ever co-appearance pair, proving their exceptional love for family.
Shin Hyun-joon surprises everyone by saying, "I quit both drinking and smoking after my daughter was born." He added, "After getting married, I used to have a drink with my wife. But then I thought, 'I need to stay by my daughter's side for a long time.' As soon as I heard I was having a daughter, I stopped drinking." He then spoke about the sense of responsibility he has felt, saying he has not had a single drop of alcohol since.
He also talks about how his feelings changed after having a daughter and how much he adores her. "I once completely ruined a wedding officiation, and after that I stopped doing them," he confesses. Shin Hyun-joon, who has worked as a professor for 16 years and has often been asked by his students to officiate weddings, says he once saw a father of the bride enter the ceremony holding his daughter's hand and crying. The father kept asking the groom to take his daughter's hand, but could not bring himself to let go. Shin Hyun-joon said, "I burst into tears because I could feel the father's heart in that moment. My tears startled everyone." He added, "Even the bride's father was surprised and ended up telling me, 'Please don't cry.'" The story drew laughter on set.
Shin Hyun-joon also says, "I'm relieved that none of my children have inherited my nose yet," revealing his concern over the family trait of the so-called "charming nose" passed down through generations. He jokes, "Thanks to my wife, a lot of my genes have been diluted. But I'm a little worried, because when they're young, they look just like other kids. Then around middle school, it starts growing. Everyone in my family is like that." His playful remark leaves the studio in stitches.
Meanwhile, Kim Joo-ha also unleashes her unapologetic "couple breaker" instincts on Shin Hyun-joon and Kim Kyung-mi, freezing Moon Se-yoon and Jo Jjaeze in place. When Kim Kyung-mi says she has been raising three children largely on her own, Kim Joo-ha strongly empathizes and raises her voice, saying, "Usually, women run away." A startled Moon Se-yoon quickly steps in, asking, "Would couples even come on the show if you say things like that?" and tries to stop her. But after briefly calming down, Kim Joo-ha suddenly asks, "Have you ever thought this marriage was a mistake..." Moon Se-yoon and Jo Jjaeze rush to intervene, and Kim Joo-ha quickly apologizes, bringing big laughs to the set.
