"What Was That at 4 a.m.?"... Jang Sung-kyu Posts Neighbor's 'Profanity Message' on SNS

[Sportschosun, Reporter Kim Soo-hyun] Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu posted on social media the profanity-laced message he received in the early morning hours, along with the later apology process.

On the 14th, Jang Sung-kyu shared the DM he had received, writing on his SNS, "I thought, what kind of trouble is this at 4 a.m.? But I felt better after seeing that he was a younger neighbor who knew to apologize once he sobered up."

The message, sent by an anonymous person who identified himself as a "neighbor," contained heated remarks and profanity, including, "Live in a way that won't embarrass your children," "Live by keeping a man's pride rather than money," and "People in their 20s and 30s are crying blood right now."

Jang Sung-kyu, caught off guard by the unexpected message, also reacted with surprise, saying, "Huh? A younger neighbor is saying this to me?"

A few hours later, the person sent Jang Sung-kyu another apology message.

He wrote, "I drank too much. I'm sorry, hyung. I was upset and just venting. I support you, and I'm sorry." He added, "I didn't know if you would reply, so I just lashed out with profanity. I crossed the line. I'm sorry. Please be happy," bowing his head again.

In response, Jang Sung-kyu said, "Well, that can happen when you're drunk. I was going to ignore it if I could, but I couldn't just brush it off because he's a younger neighbor. Say hello if you see me on the street," adding the relatively cool response along with the hashtags "#drunkenhonesty #and #forgiveness."

Meanwhile, Jang Sung-kyu married a non-celebrity in 2014 and has two sons. He remains active across television, radio, and variety shows. He also drew attention when it was revealed that he bought a building in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 6.5 billion won in August 2021. The building's current market value is reportedly well above 10 billion won.
