Famous Tennis Coach Who Appeared on Variety Show Sparks Controversy Over Sending Sensitive Video to Third Party... "Referred to Prosecutors Without

[Sportschosun Park Ah-ram] A former tennis player turned coach, who once appeared on a variety show, has reportedly been referred to prosecutors on suspicion of distributing a private video of himself and a former partner without consent.

According to a Money Today report on the 14th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency referred a man in his 30s, identified as A, to prosecutors without detention late last month on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, specifically the distribution of images or videos taken with a camera or similar device.

A is accused of sending a video showing sexual activity with B, whom he was dating, to a third party sometime between mid-2024 and April last year. He is known as a former coach from a professional tennis team and is also said to have appeared in films and variety programs in the past.

Police reportedly decided not to forward the case on allegations that A illegally filmed the material, citing insufficient evidence. However, the victim's side has objected to that decision, submitted additional evidence, and requested a supplementary investigation as well as a probe into whether there were other victims.

Another person, C, who is accused of receiving and viewing the video, was also included in the investigation. C is known as the spouse of a YouTuber who was formerly part of a famous duo, and prosecutors reportedly issued a suspension of indictment.

During the investigation, C acknowledged receiving the video from A, but reportedly explained that it was neither requested nor expected in advance. C's side said the video was sent suddenly, leaving them shocked and confused.

Meanwhile, A is said not to have offered a separate apology to the victim. He reportedly said he is currently reviewing the related materials and discussing how to respond with his legal representative.
