[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Travel YouTuber Pani Bottle stirred the room with a candid remark.
On the 12th, the YouTube channel Channel Full Moon uploaded a video titled "A High-End Debate Among YouTubers with 19.5 Million Subscribers, Part 1."
That day, producer Na Young-seok invited creators active on YouTube, including Chimchakman, Pani Bottle, Mimiminu, Car, the Garden, Kang Min-kyung, Hyoyeon, Kwak Beom, and Um Ji-yoon, for a discussion about YouTube.
Stepping forward, Pani Bottle said, "When it was introduced as a 'YouTube symposium,' I was a little surprised by the lineup. There are only three people here whom I would truly call YouTubers I recognize," naming himself, Mimiminu, and Chimchakman.
Pani Bottle added, "There are singers and comedians here, but they are people who have achieved a certain level of success in their own fields. I fully recognize their personal accomplishments. Some of them came into YouTube starting from third base and seem to think they are good at baseball. We are people who got here by hitting singles." Car, the Garden then looked visibly displeased.
He then caused chaos in the studio with the explosive comment, "Celebrities are, after all, people who came in after sniffing out the money."
Producer Na Young-seok shot back, "How much do you make? Even as a producer, you can make good money," while Kang Min-kyung also expressed discomfort, asking, "What is this person?" Car, the Garden added, "I get really irritated when money comes up," and Hyoyeon drew laughter by admitting, "I’m good at sniffing out money."
As the studio erupted, Pani Bottle explained why he recognized Chimchakman, formerly a webtoon artist, as a true YouTuber. "He started with nothing when things were not going well. In 2014, it was a time when it was hard to make money. He would turn on the stream while playing games, and it worked out. In a way, he has now reached the position of a godfather. Because of what he built before that, I recognize him not just as a real YouTuber, but as a godfather," he said.
Pani Bottle also said, "Unlike the others, I have the pride of having started with absolutely nothing and made it this far," and Kang Min-kyung and Um Ji-yoon said, "We recognize that."
