The TV Chosun variety show "Joseon's Lover," which aired on the 15th, featured Lee Yong-sik's granddaughter Won I-yeol's first birthday celebration.
The episode drew attention to Lee Yong-sik's daily life as he went from being the nation's doting father to the nation's doting grandfather.
As time passed, Won I-yeol grew to resemble her father, Won Hyuk, more and more, winning the full love of her family. With the family gathered together to celebrate her first birthday, the atmosphere was warm and cheerful.
Busy preparing for the event, Lee Yong-sik broke into a bright smile and warmly welcomed his granddaughter as soon as he spotted her behind the stage.

The broadcast also showed how the family had changed through caring for the granddaughter. Lee Soo-min, Lee Yong-sik's daughter, who lost 40 kg after giving birth, said, "The whole family is losing weight fast because we're all busy with childcare," drawing laughter.
She added, "It takes four people to raise one child," offering a candid look at the realities of parenting. The biggest change, however, was seen in Lee Yong-sik. He revealed that by actively taking part in caring for his granddaughter, he had successfully lost 22 kg, surprising everyone.
He joked, "To anyone across the country who has failed at dieting or regained the weight, try raising a child," and added, "If you do childcare, there is no yo-yo effect at all. The weight just melts off," turning the set into a sea of laughter.
Lee Soo-min also acknowledged his dedication, saying, "My father doesn't have time to sit at home all day."
Lee Yong-sik, who has been busier than ever out of love for his granddaughter, added warmth to the story by showing that he had managed to achieve two goals at once: childcare and weight loss.
