[Sportschosun, Kim Soo-hyun] Broadcaster Mija drew attention after revealing that her younger brother, Jang Young, had recently made returns of several times his investment through stock trading.
In a YouTube video released on the 15th on the channel Mija Tavern, Mija, her husband Kim Tae Hyun, and her younger brother Jang Young were seen chatting together.
That day, Kim Tae Hyun asked Jang Young, "Do you also invest in stocks? They’ve been all the rage lately." Jang Young replied, "I’ve been investing for a while. I think it’s been about four to five years."
Mija then recalled the past and joked, "Didn’t you get caught in the same stock as me six years ago? Didn’t you cry a lot? You lost tens of millions of won."
Remembering that time, Jang Young admitted, "I put in 20 million won and lost 10 million won." Mija then teased him with her trademark wit, saying, "The best way to make 10 million won is to invest 20 million won," drawing laughter from everyone.
But the real twist came next. Jang Young mentioned SK hynix as one of the stocks he currently holds.
Mija joked, "Traitor," and immediately asked about his purchase price, saying, "But the important thing is how much you got in at."
When Jang Young revealed, "I got in at 490,000 won," Mija and Kim Tae Hyun could not hide their shocked expressions.
Kim Tae Hyun, who had been thinking of giving him some pocket money out of concern for his finances, said, "I can’t give you 200,000 won," turning the set into a burst of laughter.
Mija also exclaimed, "You’re a chaebol! Oppa!" suddenly calling her younger brother "oppa" in surprise.
The stock Jang Young bought is reportedly now worth around 2.3 million won, meaning it has risen to more than four times its purchase price of 490,000 won.
Kim Tae Hyun cautiously asked about the scale of the profit, saying, "We should avoid creating a sense of disparity, so is it within the top five fingers?" Jang Young answered, "Yes," suggesting he had earned a substantial return on his investment.
As news spread that Jang Young, who once suffered a 10 million won loss, had finally hit the jackpot after years of investing, viewers have also been paying close attention.
Meanwhile, Mija is the daughter of actors Jang Gwang and Jun Sung-ae. She married comedian Kim Tae Hyun in 2022 and currently runs the YouTube channel Mija Tavern while also working actively as a home shopping host.
