[Sportschosun Jo Yoon-sun] Kim Young-hee offered comfort to mothers who are struggling as she shared her own breastfeeding experience.
The KBS2 program "Malja Show," which aired on the 15th, was a special episode themed around "the adult world." During the broadcast, a viewer's concern was introduced: "I thought once I had a baby, I would naturally become a mother too. But neither my body nor my mind works the way I want. I feel upset because I seem like the only mother who is lacking."
"Malja Grandma" Kim Young-hee opened up about her own breastfeeding experience. "I had a time when I felt upset too. It was during my days at the postpartum care center," she said. "I was someone who didn't produce much breast milk. So the center director recommended that I use a breast pump," she added.
Kim Young-hee said, "Even when I used the breast pump, I couldn't fill a single bottle." She joked, "When I compared it with the amount of milk other mothers had pumped, I felt really inadequate. I even wondered if I should ask them for their leftovers," drawing laughter.
Kim Young-hee emphasized, "Even though my child grew up drinking less breast milk, he is now healthier than anyone else." She added, "We are raising our children by doing our best within our own limits." She then encouraged parents, saying, "There is not a single mother or father who is lacking. You don't need to blame yourself. Mothers and fathers are truly amazing."
The episode also featured a balance game asking, "Do you tell your spouse about your secret preferences, or do you hide them?" Guest Lady Jane said, "Things that should stay private should stay private, but couples should communicate most openly about secrets that matter to each other."
Obstetrician and gynecologist Kim Ji-yeon agreed, saying, "A sense of mystery is necessary even between spouses." She advised against showing too much nudity in everyday life. "If you live together for a long time, you start to look like family. Then all that remains is comfort, and sexual attraction drops a lot. It is important to still remain a man or a woman to each other," she added. Kim Young-hee then bowed her head and said, "I guess I should wear clothes at home," prompting more laughter.
