[Sportschosun reporter Lee Woo-joo] Youngho and Oksoon from Season 28 of I Am Solo said they are considering changing their daughter’s surname after their remarriage.
On the 15th, a video titled "From wedding details to plans for a second child!" was uploaded to the YouTube channel run by Youngho and Oksoon from Season 28 of I Am Solo.
Youngho and Oksoon, who held their wedding ceremony on the 31st of last month, took time to answer questions about remarriage.
Their newlywed home is in Paju, where Oksoon had been living. Youngho explained, "For the sake of our lovely daughter, I moved to Paju because I was worried she might feel confused if her surroundings suddenly changed when she enters elementary school."
One fan asked about changing their daughter’s surname. In response to a question about whether they would change it to Youngho’s surname, Oksoon said, "I’ve often received this question whenever I open a Q&A. But this is a legal matter, and since I can’t get in touch with the other party, I’ve been trying to be as careful as possible because it could lead to misunderstandings once we talk about it on air." She added, "Ayul is also accepting it, and I can’t go into the details of the legal process." Along with that, Oksoon and Youngho wrote in captions, "We will try to resolve it as quietly as possible."
Regarding plans for a second child, Oksoon said, "My brother-in-law’s family has one son and one daughter, and they look so warm, harmonious, and happy. We do talk about things like, 'How about one son and one daughter?' But that’s not something we can decide on our own, so we are open to it."
Youngho answered questions about remarriage when children are already involved. Holding Oksoon’s daughter in his arms, he said firmly, "If you fully accept the other person’s circumstances and conditions, build a family, and still feel even a little bit that you have sacrificed or compromised for the other person, I would not recommend starting with that mindset."
Youngho advised, "I feel very happy. I’m grateful just to have built a precious family with the wife I love and my daughter. If you are not going to date or build a family with that mindset, there will eventually be problems, big or small, and the child could be hurt by them. So if you are not ready, I hope you talk a lot, make a lot of effort, and make a careful decision when you are ready."
