[Sportschosun Jo Min-jeong reporter] As the 32nd season of the divorcee special of 'I'm Solo' is airing, an anonymous post claiming to be from a former spouse of one of the past cast members has stirred online controversy.
On the 16th, a lengthy post was uploaded to a global social media account, saying, "People say 'I'm Solo' is a show with sincerity, but if a participant lies, does that just become the truth?"
The writer went on to say, "Criminal, civil, and divorce lawsuits were all filed, and the other side deliberately dragged things out, taking the case all the way to appeal," and claimed, "But seeing them say on the show that it was an amicable divorce and manage their image like that makes me so angry."
The writer also said, "Even when I try to move on and stop paying attention, the algorithm brings it up from time to time, and it reminds me of everything I endured during the marriage." The person added, "I want to expose everything, but I don't know if that would be the wise choice," and asked netizens for advice, saying, "It would be enough if they just corrected the false parts and apologized, but that person would never do that."
The post quickly spread across various online communities.
Netizens reacted with comments such as, "Who on earth is it?", "It doesn't seem to be the 32nd season," "Isn't it the 28th season?", "If it's true, shouldn't this be made public so there won't be more victims?", and "It seems right to release the court ruling after the show ends."
Some also raised suspicions, leaving comments such as, "I heard they divorced because of their own violent behavior, but they go around saying it was a personality clash," "If it's a lie, isn't that a breach of contract?", and "It must feel similar to what victims of school violence go through."
On the other hand, many took a cautious stance, saying, "It would be better not to act emotionally right now and wait a little longer," and "Fact-checking should come first."
However, the post did not mention the specific season or the real name of any cast member. The writer's claims have also not been verified.
Meanwhile, SBS Plus and ENA's 'I'm Solo' is a reality dating program that follows single men and women who are eager to get married. In particular, the divorcee special has continued its success through the 10th, 16th, 22nd, 28th, and most recently the 32nd season, drawing strong viewer interest.
