[Sportschosun reporter Kim So-hee] Former "Chungju Man" Kim Seon-tae made a surprise appearance on Chungju City’s official YouTube channel four months after resigning.
On the 16th, a video titled "gganbu meeting" was uploaded to Chungju City’s official YouTube channel. The city described it as a "Jensen Huang gganbu meeting parody."
The video showed former Chungju Man Kim Seon-tae, his successor "Chungju Girl" Choi Ji-ho, and "Bapsot-jwa" Jang Yeon-ju gathering together for a beef dinner. The three toasted with soda instead of alcohol, keeping the mood light and cheerful.
Kim Seon-tae especially drew laughs when he showed his trademark wit, telling the two people who remained at Chungju City Hall, "You’re so annoying."
Although the clip was only about 20 seconds long, the response was intense. Fans flooded the comments with playful remarks such as, "There he is, my Jensen Huang," "Kim Seon-tae, the 1 million-subscriber YouTuber, on Chungju City’s channel," "Kim Seon-tae has made it, appearing on a government agency’s YouTube channel too," "Kim Seon-tae, come back to Chungju City," and "The one who stayed and the one who left."
Even with his brief appearance, Kim Seon-tae continued to show his strong presence, and online reactions have remained warm and welcoming.
Meanwhile, Kim Seon-tae joined the civil service in 2016 as a ninth-grade official and gained fame as "Chungju Man" while running Chungju City’s official YouTube channel. He later received a special promotion and was elevated to grade 6 at the end of 2023 before leaving his job in February. He now runs his own YouTube channel, which has 1.69 million subscribers.
