[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Actress Jeon Won-ju visited a hospital for a follow-up checkup after hip surgery.
On the 16th, a video titled "I want to stand in front of you for a long time... but I guess there is nothing I can do now.." was uploaded to Jeon Won-ju's YouTube channel.
Jeon Won-ju said she went to the hospital because "I fell last year and had hip surgery, and I came to see how the recovery has been going."
Explaining why she returned for a checkup four months after the surgery, Jeon Won-ju said, "I’m fine after the surgery, but my leg aches a little. The operated leg is fine, but the leg that wasn’t operated on feels uncomfortable. That’s what I’m curious about."
When the production team asked whether she had been worried before the surgery, Jeon Won-ju said, "I was worried. While going through the surgery, I kept thinking, 'What if I can’t continue my life as an entertainer?' But after doing it, I feel so much better."
She added, "I worried a lot. When you get older and go to alumni gatherings, everyone talks about surgeries, and some people even come in with canes. So just not needing one is something to be thankful for." But she also admitted, "I get nervous when I come to the hospital. I feel anxious that the results might come back badly."
After meeting with the doctor, Jeon Won-ju described her symptoms. The doctor explained, "The operated area is usually used carefully, but the unoperated side is the only part supporting your body, so you may be putting a lot of strain on it and feeling more fatigue."
X-ray results showed no problems with the operated hip. However, the doctor said, "There is some progression of arthritis in the lower back. There is also some spinal stenosis in the back overall, and the area between the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae is misaligned. Rather than being caused by trauma, degenerative changes may have reduced the elasticity inside the body, and as the disc has settled, the alignment has shifted a bit, which could be causing the symptoms."
However, the doctor said surgery or a procedure was not necessary. Jeon Won-ju then expressed relief and joy.
