[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actress and singer Sooyoung Choi and Jung Kyung-ho, who broke up after 14 years of dating, are drawing attention as they share updates in very different ways. Sooyoung has continued her active schedule with variety shows and official events, while Jung has shown only a quiet daily life with his pet dog, highlighting their contrasting paths.
Even after news of the breakup became public, Sooyoung remained active. On the 13th, she attended the 12th Eoullim Marathon: Running with the Visually Impaired, held at Peace Plaza, World Cup Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and greeted the public with a bright smile. The event was made even more meaningful by her participation alongside her father, who serves as chairman of the National Headquarters for the Campaign Against Blindness.
She also shared photos from the marathon on social media, including shots with Sean and Dayoung of WJSN, sending a message of healthy energy. Her appearance at an official event just four days after confirming the breakup drew even more attention.
She is also continuing her variety show activities. On the 20th, she will appear on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)'s "Hangout with Yoo" as part of the unit HyoriSoo, formed with Girls' Generation members Hyoyeon and Kwon Yu-ri, where they will take on an audition for a short-form drama OST. In the released teaser, Sooyoung led the mood with her signature bright energy, drawing laughs with her passionate singing and dancing. She is also set to take the stage in July for the play "The Merchant of Venice," further accelerating her work as an actress.
By contrast, Jung Kyung-ho has been spending his time quietly since the breakup. Since the news became known, the only update he has shared was a photo of his pet dog on his social media story.
Jung posted a photo of Ho-young-i and left a short caption that read, "Bbang-gu-ssang-i." Ho-young-i is known as a name he gave the dog by taking the last syllable from each of their names during his relationship with Sooyoung, which drew fans' interest. Aside from that, he has kept a low profile without any further statements or activity updates.
Meanwhile, Sooyoung and Jung confirmed their breakup on the 9th. Both sides said, "It is true that we broke up," and added, "We have decided to remain good colleagues." The two had been publicly dating since 2012 and were widely loved as one of the entertainment industry's longest-running couples, making the news all the more disappointing.
