Jang Hang-jun Collapses While Running Abroad... Shares Emergency Treatment Photo, Says He Took Double Dose of Blood Pressure Medicine

[Sportschosun Jo Yoon-sun] Film director Jang Hang-jun recalled a frightening experience in which he collapsed during a trip to Spain after taking a double dose of his blood pressure medication.

In the video, Jang Hang-jun heard a story about someone who broke a leg while running abroad and was taken to the hospital. He then said, "I had a similar experience too."

He said, "I went to Spain with the production team, and in the morning everyone suggested we go for a run together, so I joined them. I usually take my blood pressure medicine in the morning, but when it was time to go out, I couldn't remember whether I had taken it. Everyone said, 'Maybe you didn't take it,' so I took another pill. You shouldn't take two, but I did."

He continued, "Once I started running, I felt really refreshed and good. But after I reached the destination, everything in front of me started going dark. I didn't realize it while running because my blood pressure had gone up."

Jang Hang-jun recalled, "We sat at a cafe and had coffee while talking. People who talk a lot are funny that way, because even in that condition, I kept talking. While I kept talking, I suddenly collapsed, and the kids were so shocked they said, 'Director, what's wrong?'"

He added, "A German doctor who happened to be passing by stopped after hearing Asians shouting in the cafe. What I vaguely remember is lying on the floor while people lifted my legs and looked down at me." He went on, "They were asking me so kindly, but I couldn't speak English. It was either 'thank you' or 'no thank you.'" His story drew laughter.

He also surprised viewers by saying, "One of the women sitting in that cafe was a nurse in the emergency department of a hospital in Spain. A German doctor and a Spanish emergency nurse came and treated me."

Jang Hang-jun said, "By the time I started feeling better, the ambulance had arrived, and they said I absolutely had to go to the hospital. This is where the real trip begins. At the hospital, I was discharged after doing nothing but lying there. It took eight hours to be discharged. That's the real travel experience," drawing laughter once again.

He also revealed a photo of himself receiving emergency treatment at the time. In the photo, Jang Hang-jun is lying on the floor but still smiling, which caught attention. After seeing it, Jang Hang-jun joked, "I don't even remember whether I was smiling, but I guess I really do have a naturally cheerful face, even in a situation like that."
