[Sportschosun Reporter Kim Joon-seok] Actress Min Do-hee opened up about her honest feelings as she wrapped up a cafe part-time job that had lasted more than a year.
On the 17th, a video titled "I Quit My Cafe Part-Time Job" was uploaded to Min Do-hee's YouTube channel, Mini Dohee.
In the video, Min Do-hee showed everything from getting ready for work and her shift at the cafe to her daily life after clocking out. She also talked about why she took the job and how her life has changed.
Min Do-hee began by saying, "I've already been working here for more than a year. Honestly, I never thought I'd end up doing this for so long."
She continued, "When I first started the part-time job, I was nervous and embarrassed. But now I think it was the right choice. Anything is hard at the beginning."
She also recalled a difficult period before she started working part-time.
Min Do-hee said, "Before I started this job, I didn't have much work and I think I had become really small inside. I always felt down." She added, "I was in a pretty low place, but working made me realize something. I think I wanted work that needed me."
She went on to say, "Strangely, I started to feel more energetic. Being recognized for my usefulness here made me feel better." She added, "In many ways, I feel really good about having worked here."
She also revealed that this was her first part-time job after turning 30. "Most people do part-time jobs in their early 20s," she said. "But in my case, I started my first one after I turned 30. It took a lot of courage to begin at that age. Still, I'm enjoying the work now, and I've even learned to like going to work."
Min Do-hee also drew attention by hinting at a return to her main career.
She said, "I think I'll be wrapping up my part-time job soon. Opportunities have come up that will let me gradually return to my main work, so I'm planning to bring this chapter to a close."
She also expressed affection for the job even after leaving work. Min Do-hee said, "Before I started this part-time job, I was living almost like a shut-in." She added, "But once I started working, my energy went up. I was suited to repetitive work, and even if I worked for just a short time each day, it made me feel better."
She continued, "When you're depressed, you just keep sinking deeper into it, but working had a very positive effect on me." She added, "The past year and more has been truly meaningful. I have no regrets about the year that passed."
Meanwhile, Min Do-hee was previously caught up in so-called "airport nuisance" controversy after photos showed her wearing sneakers and placing her feet on a chair at the airport last year.
At the time, she apologized in a post on Social Networking Service (SNS), and later said on YouTube that the incident became a turning point that led her to change that behavior.
