[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] fromis_9's Jiwon confessed that she had no income for eight years.
On the 17th, the YouTube channel Workman uploaded a video titled "A Job Where You Can Check an Idol's Salary."
Jiwon took on a part-time job as a bank clerk that day.
While hiding in the supply room and secretly eating jelly with her mentor, Jiwon asked, "What is the hardest part of bank work?" The mentor replied honestly, "Getting to work is the hardest part. There is still so much left until I can go home." Jiwon then asked, "What do you think about when you go to work?" and the mentor said, "I think I just go in without thinking about anything. If I think about it, it gets harder," drawing laughter.
Jiwon directly asked, "How much is your annual salary?" and the mentor asked her salary in return. When Jiwon said she should go first, the mentor whispered her salary and said, "If I tell you, just say whether yours is higher or lower than mine."
Shocked after hearing the salary, Jiwon exclaimed, "You make good money. Really." The mentor then asked, "Is yours twice as high as mine? Three times?" Jiwon snapped back, "What are you talking about? If that were the case, I wouldn't be here."
Jiwon said, "Until two years ago, I had no money at all. I had no income for eight years. I was broke like a beggar," adding, "I only recently started getting paid. Now I'm finally saving steadily."
Meanwhile, fromis_9 debuted in 2018 as an eight-member group, but it is now promoting as a five-member act. After moving to Ascend last year, fromis_9 will make a comeback with its second full-length album in July.
