"Should I Keep This Marriage Going?" Mirage Opens Up About a Rut in Her Marriage to a Handsome Husband Who Lost 40 kg

[Sportschosun, Reporter Kim Soo-hyun] Comedian Mirage candidly opened up about the sense of boredom she experienced in her marriage.

In a video released on the YouTube channel Rolling Thunder on the 16th, Mirage appeared alongside Lee Kyung-sil, Jo Hye-ryeon, Lee Sun-min and others to share a variety of stories.

That day, Jo Hye-ryeon brought up Mirage's husband while recalling the time of her recent bereavement.

Jo Hye-ryeon joked, "I went to the funeral, and I was so curious about Mirage's husband. I even wondered, 'Does Mirage really have a husband, or is he just someone who exists in name only?'" She added, "I saw him in person, and he was so handsome and warm," and Lee Sun-min also chimed in, saying, "He was really handsome."

Mirage's husband's weight loss also became a topic of conversation. Lee Sun-min asked, "From the articles alone, I thought there were two Mirages," and added, "Didn't her husband lose about 40 kg?"

In response, Mirage said, "I think he used me as a mirror for self-reflection," and laughed as she added, "He probably thought, 'Wow, I can't let myself become like that,' or 'Am I really at that level too?' and decided to lose weight."

The conversation then turned to marital arguments. Mirage said, "We're both so busy that we aren't together often, so there isn't much to fight about," adding, "We fought a lot when we were dating."

She then honestly admitted that she went through a rut as the marriage went on. Mirage said, "At some point, I started wondering, 'Should I keep this marriage going?'" She continued, "In the past, just having him next to me made my heart race, but once that feeling disappeared, I started thinking, 'Why am I even living?'"

After hearing this, Lee Kyung-sil comforted her by saying, "That's exactly what a rut is," and added, "Around the seventh year of marriage, anyone can feel that way."

Lee Kyung-sil also advised that raising a pet dog can help a couple's relationship. She said, "When a couple has nothing to do together, getting a dog naturally leads to more conversation," and added, "As time goes by, it really starts to feel like a precious family member."

Meanwhile, Mirage married a non-celebrity one year her senior in 2019.
