Kang Ye-won Reveals Three-Stage Transformation Before and After Plastic Surgery: "My Epicanthoplasty Failed, So I Had Eye Surgery Six Times... I Also Had a Slight Nose Job"

[Sportschosun Jo Yoon-sun] Actress Kang Ye-won opened up about the difficulties she experienced after her epicanthoplasty.

On the 18th, a video titled "Plastic Surgery Consultation Room of Lee Se-young, Who Spent 100 Million Won on Cosmetic Procedures (Did Ye-won Get Her Nose Done Too?)" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Gwang Ye-won.

That day, Kang Ye-won visited a plastic surgery clinic and had an honest conversation with Lee Se-young, who had taken on the role of a consultation director. She said, "What really stresses me out is that, as an actress, I want to keep evolving through my work, and I want articles to focus on my acting. But at some point, articles about my epicanthoplasty kept coming out, and that became incredibly stressful."

After Lee Se-young praised how Kang Ye-won looked after her epicanthoplasty reversal, Kang Ye-won emphasized, "I had epicanthoplasty, but it failed, so I lived with it for 20 years before having it closed again. This is my original face."

Lee Se-young then exclaimed, "Honestly, that's amazing. You have the feel of a rookie actress. You look completely pure, young, and like someone who just debuted."

Kang Ye-won, however, said, "People don't recognize me. Even when I walk by, they don't know who I am, so I feel a little disappointed," drawing laughter as she explained that she deliberately raises her voice to make her presence known.

Kang Ye-won explained why she underwent epicanthoplasty, saying, "My manager told me that if I had an epicanthic fold, it would be distracting when filming movies," and added, "I had epicanthoplasty once, but as time passed, my eyes gradually started to look more drawn together."

Along with that, a three-stage comparison photo showing Kang Ye-won's appearance before and after plastic surgery at a glance also drew attention.

After seeing the photos, Lee Se-young pointed out, "Be honest. It's because you had your nose done. If you do epicanthoplasty and a nose job, the eyes look even more drawn together." Kang Ye-won admitted, "I had a slight nose job." She then confessed, "I've had my eyes done several times. I don't remember exactly, but I did it seven times."

Kang Ye-won said, "I went through a lot of emotional pain because of my epicanthoplasty," and added, "I've decided not to have any more cosmetic procedures for a while. I'm sick and tired of it."
