Sunwoo Yongnyeo and Jeon Won-ju Shocked by Yangpyeong Land Visit: "It Would Cost 100 Million Won Just to Build a Road"

[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actress Sunwoo Yongnyeo and Jeon Won-ju, longtime friends of the same age at 82, were surprised by the realistic development costs as they looked over land they had once bought together to build a vacation home.

A video uploaded on the YouTube channel "Soonpoong Sunwoo Yongyeo" on the 18th showed the two visiting land in Yangpyeong County under the title, "82-year-old best friends Sunwoo Yongyeo and Jeon Won-ju finally go to build a house on the 600-pyeong Yangsuri land where they plan to spend their later years together."

Sunwoo Yongnyeo said, "Originally, my sister was going to buy 350 pyeong and I was going to buy 250 pyeong so we could build a house like a vacation home," adding, "We had even planned to ask the county office about the road issue." Jeon Won-ju also showed her excitement, saying, "I heard that if you get the permit, you can build a road."

The two later met with a representative in person and asked about the land's development potential. However, they were told that the property is landlocked and has no road access. The representative explained that they would need surveying, permit procedures, and even the consent of neighboring landowners.

Both women were especially stunned when they heard the estimated cost. The representative said road construction alone would cost about 300,000 to 400,000 won per pyeong, explaining that for 300 pyeong, the total would come to around 60 million won. When told that construction costs would be separate, Jeon Won-ju was shocked and said, "So even a 30-pyeong house would cost 300 million won?" Sunwoo Yongnyeo then made everyone laugh by saying, "Let's just wait."

After the consultation, the two looked around the Yangpyeong scenery together and shared candid thoughts about life in old age. Jeon Won-ju said, "Once you're over 80, you're old. No matter how fun we try to live, we probably only have about 10 years left." Sunwoo Yongnyeo agreed, saying, "We should live while seeing and keeping these beautiful views in our hearts."

In the end, the two decided to take a long-term view rather than push ahead with development right away. Jeon Won-ju said, "Land doesn't die. It doesn't disappear," adding, "If it's not for my time, it can be for my son's time." Sunwoo Yongnyeo also expressed satisfaction, saying, "I was happy today because I ate delicious food and saw beautiful things."
