Lee Chun-hee Suddenly Quits After 13 Years as a Furniture CEO, Addresses Retirement Rumors Head-On

[Sportschosun, Lee Ji-hyun] Actor Lee Chun-hee said he is stepping down from the furniture brand he has run for 13 years and will focus on acting, his main career. As he devoted himself to business, rumors even spread that he had retired from the entertainment industry. He has now spoken candidly about why he left the brand and how he really feels.

On the 18th, the YouTube channel 'Cheongaemi Lee Chun-hee' released an episode titled 'Celebrating My Resignation After 13 Years - Actor Lee Chun-hee Opens Up About His Honest Feelings About Leaving Murenggeti.'

In the video, Lee Chun-hee went backpacking and talked about his recent life and a new beginning in nature. Explaining why his stage and broadcast appearances have increased, he said, "There is a reason for everything," and revealed that he stepped down from Hybro and resigned last December.

Lee Chun-hee said, "While running Hybro for 13 years, I honestly had no room to breathe, and there were many urgent matters I had to handle right away." He added, "There were times when I turned down offers for projects and activities in my main field." He then explained, "I resigned because I wanted to stay true to my main job."

He also opened up about the pressure he felt while running the brand. Lee Chun-hee recalled, "I kept feeling like I had to do something and had to be helpful. I was preparing events and planning things, but as a result, I felt like I was not doing enough in my real job." He added, "I thought I needed to make a decisive choice."

Speaking about Hybro, which he started with his younger brother, he expressed both affection and regret. Lee Chun-hee said, "Neither my brother nor I had ever run a business or brand before, but we were able to come this far thanks to the love and support of so many people." He admitted, "I think I became increasingly absorbed in it because I kept thinking I had to do better."

He continued, "In the past, when I had no projects, I would go to a workshop and make things, or go camping and try them out myself. That was how it started, just for fun. But at some point, I began wondering whether people would love it." He said, "As those thoughts piled up, my desire to focus more on my own work grew stronger."

Hybro is now being run entirely by his younger brother. Lee Chun-hee said, "I feel sorry to my brother, but I think each of us doing our best in our own place helps both of us." He added, "Now that I am watching from behind, I can see more things and offer advice as well."

Above all, he expressed satisfaction with how his life has changed after resigning. He smiled and said, "After juggling two jobs for 13 years, it feels so good to focus only on my main career." He added, "I am truly happy now."

He also mentioned the play 'Beginning,' in which he is currently appearing. He said, "The more I perform, the happier I feel. It makes me think that I went to the theater department because I wanted to do this." He added, "The play is giving me energy right now."

Finally, Lee Chun-hee said, "I am grateful to everyone who has loved the Hybro brand," and added, "I hope people will also keep an eye on Lee Chun-hee as an actor. I will come to you as myself." With that, he announced a new start.
