[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Actor Kim Ji-seok drew laughs as he revealed a unique family naming story tied to his name.
On the 18th, Netflix South Korea's YouTube channel released a video titled, "My ex-husband next to my current husband, next to someone else's husband... Why are they all together? | We did come to promote Husbands."
The video featured Jin Seon-gyu, Gong Myung, and Kim Ji-seok, who appeared as guests from the Netflix film Husbands and shared a lively conversation.
During the discussion, Yoo Byung-jae opened by saying, "I heard Kim Ji-seok's family has a knack for coming up with clever names." Kim then surprised everyone by sharing the story behind how his relatives were named.
Kim Ji-seok explained, "They were named after the places they were born." He added, "My father is the youngest of three brothers. He was born at Onyang Hot Springs, so he was named Onyang. My second uncle was born in Changchun, China, so he became Changchun, and my eldest uncle was born in Beijing, China, so he became Kim Beijing." The unexpected naming style left the cast stunned, with everyone asking, "Is that really true?"
He then added, "My second uncle's son was born in London, so he's Kim London," expanding the family's naming universe even further and drawing more laughter. Yoo Byung-jae responded, "'London' is a little hard to believe," and Kim Ji-seok replied seriously, "It's true. You can't make jokes out of your family's names, can you?" He then added, "He still lives in London," sending the set into laughter.
Kim Ji-seok also shared the story behind his own name. He said, "My older brother was born in Sinsa-dong, so my mother was told that 'the name should follow tradition,' but she strongly objected, and in the end, he even had to change his name." He added, "I was born on Easter, so I almost became Kim Bu-hwal, but fortunately, I became Bo-seok."
Meanwhile, the Netflix film Husbands, which stars Kim Ji-seok, is a comedy action movie about the unpredictable plan of ex-husband Chungsik and current husband Min-seok, who team up by chance to rescue their wife after she is kidnapped by a criminal organization. It will be released on the 19th.
