[Sportschosun, Reporter Lee Ji-hyun] Actress Sung Dong-il's daughter, Seong-bin, shared the story of how she dropped out of a general high school and challenged herself to transfer to an arts high school.
On the 19th, the YouTube channel "Yunju-mo, the Wine-Brewing" released a video titled "Cute little Bin and Joon have grown up. Dad, without Dad! Where Are We Going? memories."
That day, Seong-bin said she is currently 19 and a high school senior attending an arts high school. She explained that while enrolled at a general high school, she took the transfer exam on her own and entered an arts school, adding that she chose her path out of passion for the stage.
Sung Dong-il explained, "Bin loves the stage so much that she wanted to transfer from a general high school to an arts high school, so she took the exam and got in." He added, "She filled out the application herself and just went. We all tried to stop her," saying that Seong-bin pursued the challenge on her own despite her family's objections.
Looking back on the time, Sung Dong-il said, "We took a taxi and submitted the application hours before the deadline," and honestly admitted, "I was angry then. As a father, I thought she was submitting the application however she wanted." In the end, however, he said he came to recognize his daughter's strong determination and confidence in her future path.
Since then, Seong-bin has focused on life at the arts high school and preparing for college entrance exams, continuing on the path of a dance major. Sung Joon also said, "After she started preparing for the arts high school, we hardly saw her," and added, "When I saw the photo my uncle sent, I almost thought it was a picture of a girl I didn't know because her whole vibe had changed." He praised his younger sister's efforts, saying, "I always heard from my parents that Bin was working really hard, but seeing the photo, I could tell she really was."
In fact, Seong-bin is balancing weight management with entrance exam preparation, keeping herself busy as a high school senior. She said, "The entrance exam period is long, so it's hard," but added that she continues to work steadily on dieting and self-care.
Her brother Sung Joon then reacted in surprise, saying, "What else is there to lose?" Sung Dong-il also chimed in, saying, "There's nothing left to lose," showing concern for his daughter. Seong-bin, however, did not waver in her determination and joked, "Seeing my brother comforts me. Still, I think I'm better off than him," drawing laughter from everyone on set.
Meanwhile, Sung Dong-il and his children, Sung Joon and Seong-bin, were loved by viewers for their appearance on the MBC variety show "Dad! Where Are We Going?"
