[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actress Shin Min-a shared her thoughts on marriage.
On the 19th, a video titled "Can a gumiho be the queen of laughter too? Shin Min-a, too?" was released on the YouTube channel 'Not_found.'
That day, Shin Min-a drew attention by offering sincere advice to Lee Young-ji, who opened up about her concerns over marriage. Lee Young-ji asked, "I've been thinking a lot about marriage lately." She added, "Some people date for a long time and never get married, while others marry after a short relationship. I'm curious about when you become certain that you should marry this person."
In response, Shin Min-a said, "I actually think it's better to get married later." She continued, "I don't mean you should meet a lot of people, but even while dating, you need enough time to look inward." She added, "Before marriage, it's important to go through the process of learning what kind of person I am and how I react in different relationships." When Lee Young-ji asked, "Have you dated a lot?" Shin Min-a made a shushing gesture and said, "It doesn't matter now," drawing laughter.
Shin Min-a explained, "When you date, you learn how you react when you meet a certain type of person." She added, "Through those experiences, you eventually come to understand yourself better." She also advised, "Even if it is not a romantic relationship, you need time to reflect on yourself through various experiences. I don't think there is any need to rush into marriage."
She also shared her thoughts on how to judge a potential marriage partner. Shin Min-a said, "You may look away because you like the person, but in fact, you already know." She added, "There are often signs that this person may not be the right one, and you are already sensing them." She went on, "The same goes for friendships. Some relationships are fun when you are together, but not comfortable. You should not confuse something entertaining with something healthy."
She continued, "If you feel sick or overly exhausted after meeting someone, it means you were trying too hard in that relationship." She added, "Someone who gives you comfort and stability may ultimately be the more important relationship," revealing her own views on love.
Lee Young-ji joked, "I wish a marriage partner had 'I'm your husband' written on their forehead," and Shin Min-a responded with another piece of practical advice, saying, "But don't you already know when someone is not the one?" She showed the side of a realistic senior in love.
Meanwhile, Shin Min-a and Kim Woo-bin began their public relationship in 2015 and continued their love for nearly 10 years before holding their wedding last year. Their relationship reportedly deepened further when Kim Woo-bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 2017 and paused his activities, with Shin Min-a staying by his side.
