[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Jung Seong-ho, a guest on "Manrijangseongyu," talked about life as a father of many children.
On the 19th, the YouTube channel "Manrijangseongyu" uploaded a video titled "Life as a father of five with not enough rooms (feat. Married Counseling Center)."
Jung Seong-ho, a father of five, praised his wife, saying, "Isn't that amazing? Do I raise them? My wife does." Jang Sung-kyu added, "My brother is really a romantic. He may say it like this, but he is incredibly devoted to parenting. Still, the way he says it makes it impossible not to love his wife."
His eldest and youngest children are said to be born in years 12 years apart. Jang Sung-kyu asked, "Do the kids like having a younger sibling born?" Jung Seong-ho replied, "My kids say they will run away from home if one more is born, because there is no room. Right now, our house has a dog and a lizard, and if we had a giraffe, it would be Noah's Ark," drawing laughter.
Jang Sung-kyu asked whether large families receive many support benefits, but Jung Seong-ho said, "Not really. If you raise five children, you have to earn more money. Because my income itself has gone up, there are fewer benefits."
Jung Seong-ho said, "I accept that and think I need to live even harder. But the problem is my family history. My father is the youngest of 16 siblings. My older brother has three children, and I have five." He added, "Once, on my father's 60th birthday, I said, 'Let's just eat with family. Invite only relatives my father knows.' But there were more than 100 people," surprising everyone.
Speaking about his wife, who has given birth five times, Jung Seong-ho said, "Women go through something like surgery every time they give birth to one child. They say it takes that much out of your life. If you have no choice but to give birth to a fifth child, imagine that incision being torn open five times. The flesh just won't heal." He continued, "When I had the fifth child, she was stitched up and had surgery, but the next day, while breastfeeding the baby, she started bleeding. It was an enormous amount of blood. The doctor was crying and said it could not be stitched up, so we had to go to a big hospital. They said she could live with a disability for the rest of her life. Even natural childbirth has its limits. So I held her, cried because I felt so sorry for her, and thought that I should treat this person well for the rest of my life."
