[Sportschosun Kim Jun-seok] Model and broadcaster Kim Jin-kyung revealed how she went through childbirth without her husband, Kim Seung-gyu.
On the 19th, a video titled "At last, Dalbam is moving out! Cham Jin-kyung childbirth vlog | Welcome, Dalbam" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Cham Jin-kyung.'
The video showed Kim Jin-kyung's tense day as she prepared to give birth to her first child.
At the time, her husband, soccer player Kim Seung-gyu, was in Mexico for his FIFA World Cup schedule and could not be there for the delivery.
Ahead of the birth, Kim Jin-kyung said, "They said they would start inducing labor from 5 a.m. to push Dalbam out, so I’m going to sleep early and get ready."
As time passed, however, the contractions grew stronger. Kim Jin-kyung said, "The contractions are coming every 10 minutes. It feels like really bad menstrual cramps, and my lower back hurts so much."
The pain later intensified, and she could barely lie down as she kept shifting around. She eventually moved to the delivery room and received an epidural.
Kim Jin-kyung admitted, "I tried to hold out as long as possible, but I couldn’t wait anymore," adding, "I got twice the amount of epidural."
She continued, "I think I was in labor for about 12 hours," and recalled, "After getting the epidural, it was hard to push, so it took a long time to deliver the baby."
After a long labor, Kim Jin-kyung welcomed a healthy baby girl at 2:05 p.m. on June 4.
Seeing the newborn, Kim Jin-kyung's mother said, "Her eyes and nose seem more like her father’s than Jin-kyung’s," and the family celebrated the arrival of the new life together.
Meanwhile, Kim Jin-kyung married national team goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu last year and recently shared the news of her daughter’s birth, drawing many congratulations.
