Park Hye-kyung Reaches Limit Over CCTV Affair Rumor: "Fake News... I Filed a Defamation Report"

[Sportschosun Park A-ram reporter] Singer Park Hye-kyung has expressed anger over a bizarre fake news story about her and spoke out directly to set the record straight.

On the 20th, Park Hye-kyung posted a video on her personal account and addressed the false claims that have recently spread online.

In the video, Park Hye-kyung began by saying, "At midnight, my mother called me. She showed me a video and said, 'Hye-kyung, something like this is on YouTube.'"

She went on to say, "The title of the video was 'Top 4 Female Celebrities Who Had Affairs Behind Their Husbands' Backs.' I have never been married, but the video claimed that I got married, had more than 300 affairs without my husband's knowledge, invited another man to my home while my husband was on a business trip, was caught on CCTV, and was sued." She expressed disbelief at the claims.

She added, "The entertainment industry was turned upside down, and there was even a story saying that many people who once loved me had turned their backs on me." She stressed again, "I have never been married. I do not have a husband."

Park Hye-kyung also explained how she responded to the video. She said, "I went to the police station and filed a report, but they told me the video could not be taken down. They also said it would be hard to identify the person even if I reported it." She continued, "In the end, I reported the video myself for defamation, and it was later removed. It is absolutely ridiculous."

In the message she posted with the video, she also voiced her frustration. Park Hye-kyung said, "This is absurd. It was viewed 170,000 times, and they had edited my video into several clips and uploaded them." She added, "There must be people who see this and believe it is true."

She also complained about the damage caused by the fake news, saying, "At some point, people around me kept asking, 'Have you really never been married even once?'"

Meanwhile, Park Hye-kyung debuted in 1997 as a member of the group The The and gained wide popularity with hit songs such as "Confession," "Three Things I Want to Give You," and "Lemon Tree."
