[Sportschosun Kim So-hee reporter] Singer Lee Hyori heats up the studio with realistic relationship advice that reflects her 14 years of marriage.
JTBC's new variety show "Love War," which premieres tomorrow (the 23rd), is a relationship reality program in which relationship experts Lee Hyori, Seo Jang-hoon, and Kim Hee-chul decide whether couples on the verge of breaking up should stay together or split up amid a fierce battle. The first couple to seek advice features a male trainer and a female freelance announcer.
Among them, Lee Hyori draws attention by exploding in anger. Speaking to the male client, she draws a hard line and says, "If you’re not going to do it, don’t even touch me," effectively banning him from touching his girlfriend. The reason is that he was seen kissing his girlfriend while not actually showing any important physical affection. Lee Hyori then pointedly says, "So you’re only kissing her and not doing anything else," and launches into a stream of sharp criticism. As she keeps firing off spicy advice as if counseling her own younger brother, Seo Jang-hoon also seems flustered and bursts out laughing.
When the girlfriend says, "We haven’t done anything even once this year. I seriously wondered if I wasn’t attractive," Lee Hyori makes a look of disbelief and quietly pressures the boyfriend with the gaze of an older sister protecting her younger sibling, drawing laughter. As the boyfriend explains that he has been busy with work, Kim Hee-chul, acting as the male side's diplomat, also says, "If you love someone, you can make time no matter how busy you are," and even shares his own dating experiences, reportedly sending the set into an uproar.
The first episode of "Love War," featuring Lee Hyori's high-voltage remarks that even left Seo Jang-hoon sweating, will air tomorrow (the 23rd) at 8:50 p.m. on JTBC.
