[Sportschosun reporter Jeong An-ji] Actress Go So-young showed off her candid wit as she shared a realistic glimpse into her 17th year of marriage with her husband, actor Jang Dong-gun.
On the 23rd, a video titled "First Look at Go So-young’s Private Office, Where She Collects 300-Year-Old Furniture" was uploaded to Go So-young's YouTube channel.
In the video, Go So-young revealed her private office-cum-hideout, which she has used since before her marriage and still uses today.
She said, "I’ve used this space since before I got married. The items here are probably more than 15 years old." When the production team said, "You’ve been married for 16 years," Go So-young laughed and replied, "I didn’t even know we’d been married for 16 years."
She also shared a candid conversation about their wedding anniversary. Go So-young said, "My husband told me, 'Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. Order some flowers.' So I just brushed it off and said, 'Why are you ordering flowers now?'"
She added, "At first, we agreed not to celebrate anniversaries just between us. We only celebrate birthdays." She continued, "Still, I said I want gifts every 10 years for our wedding anniversary. Since it’s our 16th year of marriage, I think I’ll need to set an alarm four years in advance." Her remarks drew laughter.
Go So-young also opened up her wardrobe, filled with long-held memories, and took out the wedding dress she wore on her wedding day, trying it on again for the first time in 16 years and reminiscing about the past.
She showed her practical side as well, saying, "When we got married, I thought, 'We should do a vow renewal too,' but it’s too much work."
She also spoke honestly about the realities of a marriage in its 17th year. Go So-young said, "We’re always with the kids, so it feels awkward when it’s just me and my husband." She added, "We went out to eat, and an older sister I know said, 'You’re here on a date.' I told her, 'It’s not a date. It’s awkward, so don’t leave.'" Her comment brought more laughter.
Meanwhile, Go So-young married actor Jang Dong-gun in 2010 and now has one son and one daughter. She is currently connecting with fans by sharing various aspects of her life through her YouTube channel.
