[Sportschosun reporter Lee Ji-hyun] Kim Min-kyung, an editor at a publishing house, will make her first appearance on "Radio Star" and show off her candid wit, even leaving broadcaster Kim Gura flustered.
MBC's "Radio Star," airing on the 24th, will feature Lee Ji-young, Kim Dae-ho, Kyung Soo-jin, and Kim Min-kyung in a special episode titled "Everyone Is Fighting for Their Own Convictions."
In a pre-released video titled "Kim Min-kyung of Tonglejo: I'm an Outsider in Fashion Too, Hehe," Kim Min-kyung's firm fashion philosophy was revealed.
As Kim Min-kyung tried to talk about her fashion taste that day, Kim Gura looked at what she was wearing and started by saying, "You like pink, don't you?" When people around him reacted with, "That's a bit much," Kim Gura joked, "If you came on a terrestrial broadcast wearing pink, then you must like it."
Kim Min-kyung replied, "I actually don't have much interest in clothes," but explained, "These days, I have more occasions to appear in front of people, such as YouTube shoots, so I need a lot more clothes. Since I mostly film while sitting and talking, I often buy tops." She added, "Then I found a very cheap shopping platform, and one blouse costs about 5,000 won," surprising everyone.
Kim Gura immediately calculated, "Seven items at 5,000 won each comes to 35,000 won," and the masters of ceremonies burst out laughing, saying, "That's obvious." Kim Gura continued his story, saying, "This just comes out naturally," and added, "When I interview reporters, I finish a one-hour interview in just 20 minutes. They are shocked," sending the studio into laughter.
But after Kim Gura kept interrupting, Kim Min-kyung finally snapped, "You're completely breaking the flow," and Kim Gura quickly apologized, saying, "I'm sorry," drawing more laughter.
Kim Min-kyung later explained, "Since I'm an AI model, the color tone can change during post-production after filming, so you have to see the final result." Hearing that, Kim Gura reasoned, "So the reason you felt bad when I said pink earlier was that it wasn't the color you wanted," and Kim Min-kyung admitted, "That's true. You're exactly right."
She added, "I wasn't upset. I was just speechless," delivering another sharp and witty comeback at Kim Gura and filling the set with laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-kyung is a sixth-year editor on Minumsa Publishing Group's overseas literature team. She handles the entire process of bringing books to readers, from translation contracts for foreign titles to cover design and marketing. She also appears on the company's YouTube channel, "Minumsa TV," and in various content, making her face familiar to the public. Kim Min-kyung's cheerful wit and relatable office-worker talk, which have earned her the nickname "publishing industry idol," can be seen on "Radio Star," airing at 10:30 p.m. on the 24th.
