On the 24th, a video titled "Making dumplings while listening to grandma's nagging vs. starving (ft. dumpling recipe)" was uploaded to Kim Young-ok's YouTube channel.
In the video, Kim Young-ok was organizing delivery boxes piled up at her front door when she said, "I don't even know what I ordered."
When a box contained the sugar cubes she usually enjoys, she explained, "I ordered them because I had run out. They are not very sweet. I like them because they taste like sugar powder, but they are a little expensive."
Another box contained brown sugar candy. Seeing it, Kim Young-ok thought of her husband and said, "This is what my husband used to like."
She teared up as she said, "I eat them often too, but he would always give me one while he was eating. Even when I didn't want candy, he would still hand it to me. I regret so much that I would refuse by saying, 'Oh, I don't want it!' in such a rude way." She added, "I didn't think I would cry because he did a lot of things I didn't like, but I keep thinking about him."
Meanwhile, Kim Young-ok's husband, Kim Young-gil, a former KBS announcer, died on the 17th of last month at the age of 89.
After his funeral, Kim Young-ok met with the YouTube production team and said, "When my husband was alive, I had to make sure he ate, so we would at least eat a little together. Now no one is here, so I don't feel like eating."
She also said, "Sometimes I feel like I can see my husband's ghost. The image that lingers most in my mind is him sitting in a chair and looking outside. I'm sorry. I feel like everything was my fault." Her words left a heavy sense of sadness.
