[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Epik High shared a firm opinion on possessive expressions directed at children.
On the 25th, a video titled "You Threw Away a Lottery Ticket??? ft. A Messy Life Advice Session" was released on Epik High's YouTube channel. In the video, Tablo, DJ Tukutz, and Mithra Jin read fans' stories and offered direct advice on a range of concerns.
That day, one fan said, "My dad is very protective of his daughter. I hid my boyfriend for three years, but when I finally told him, he disliked it a lot, as expected." The fan added, "He said it felt like his daughter was being taken away. But didn't he also marry his precious daughter? As a daughter, I don't know what attitude I should take."
In response, DJ Tukutz said firmly, "There are some phrases that should never be used. Expressions like 'it feels like my daughter was taken away' or 'it feels like my son was taken away' should absolutely not be used." Tablo agreed, saying, "I really hate that expression too. What do you mean, taken away?" Mithra Jin also added, "Children should not be treated as possessions."
Tablo then joked realistically, "If he is so good at possessing his child, how did he not know she had been dating someone secretly for three years?" He added, "Fathers like that can completely change their attitude depending on who the boyfriend is," drawing laughter with his blunt humor.
DJ Tukutz then asked, "Let's say Haru brought home a boyfriend. What would you do if I gave her 100 million won in cash as allowance?" Tablo replied, "I wouldn't like it," but his rising smile made everyone on set burst out laughing.
Meanwhile, Tablo married actress Kang Hye-jung in 2009, and they have a daughter, Haru. The family appeared together on KBS2's "Superman Returns" in 2013 and received much love from viewers.
Haru, who is known for her fluent English, is reportedly preparing for the SAT and AP exams, which are considered important for admission to U.S. universities.
She has also drawn attention for her unusual talent, joining Tablo in writing Kiki's "To Me From Me" and helping with subtitle translation for the film "Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie."
More recently, she was credited as the sole lyricist for RIIZE's new mini album title track, "Do You Dance," once again putting her in the spotlight.
