[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actor Kim Moo-yeol and his wife Yoon Seung-ah recalled the moment they hugged and cried after hearing that Netflix's 'True Education' had reached No. 1 worldwide.
On the 6th, tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' released a video on its official Social Network Service (SNS) with the caption, "The story of Kim Moo-yeol and Yoon Seung-ah bursting into tears in each other's arms after hearing that 'True Education' had become No. 1 worldwide."
In the pre-released video, Kim Moo-yeol recalled, "I first heard from the director over the phone that it had reached No. 1." He added, "After hanging up, my wife came home after dropping off our son, and I went down to the underground parking lot to talk."
He said, "I couldn't even say to my wife, 'It's No. 1 globally.' I was so overwhelmed that I cried so much," recalling the moment Netflix's 'True Education' rose to the top worldwide.
He continued, "We hugged and cried. That moment stays with me," adding, "For a long time, when we face difficult times as a couple, I think the memory of holding each other and crying will give us great strength."
Yoon Seung-ah also became emotional in an interview with the production team, saying, "Kim Moo-yeol is not the type to show tears. I can count the times I've seen him cry." She added, "But he cried for the first time, saying, 'Thank you.'"
She also expressed her affection for Kim Moo-yeol, saying, "Personally, I have watched our time together and actor Kim Moo-yeol's journey for a long time, so this feels especially meaningful." She added, "I said just one thing to Kim Moo-yeol: 'You worked hard.' That was the first thing that came to mind, and the thing I most wanted to say."
'True Education,' which depicts the fearless work of the Office for the Protection of Teachers as it stands with victims and sets schools back on track, recorded 11.8 million views and 126.2 million viewing hours. It has kept the No. 1 spot on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV list for three weeks since its release. The series also ranked No. 1 in 19 countries, including the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia, and made the Top 10 list in 85 countries.
Meanwhile, 'You Quiz on the Block,' featuring Kim Moo-yeol, will air on July 1 at 8:45 p.m.
