That day, Lee Si-eon seriously asked veteran fathers Kim Dong-hyun and Nucksal, "People say husbands have to do well so postpartum depression doesn’t happen. What should I do?"
Kim Dong-hyun replied, "Parenting is 24 hours a day. My wife and I both say the hardest period is from pregnancy to the baby's first birthday." He added, "A husband's role is especially important then. It helps to stay by her side and give her time to recover her energy, even for a short while."
He went on to say, "What wives want is not anything grand. They just want to rest alone in a space where no one else is around, use their phone, eat something good, and sleep."
Nucksal also said, "My wife wants me to take the kids out. If you do that, you're really number one," adding, "Once the baby turns one, the three of you can go around with a stroller and the child can walk, so it becomes fun from then on."
Lee Si-eon also asked what attitude a husband should have if irregular filming schedules make it impossible to fully share childcare.
Nucksal offered practical advice, saying, "At times like that, you just need to hold out for 15 minutes. The important thing is the effort. When she sees you trying to help even though you're tired, your wife ends up saying, 'I'll take care of a little more.' But you can't say, 'I came home from work,' and then go straight to your room without even looking back and go to sleep."
Kim Dong-hyun also emphasized, "I think people's feelings can change by just a hair. I know you're tired from work, but we don't know what our wives have been doing at home. They must have been exhausted too." He added, "If you acknowledge that and say, 'You've worked hard until now, so I'll take over. Get some sleep,' your wife will feel encouraged too. Meanwhile, Lee Si-eon married Seo Ji-seung in 2021 and welcomed their first son last month.
