[Sportschosun, Jang Jong-ho] A man who returned home after six months away shocked viewers after posting a video showing hundreds of snake eggs found inside his house. Some internet users, however, have raised the possibility that the footage was staged.

According to Chinese media and social networking service posts, a man identified as A, who lives in Jiangxi Province, recently returned home after leaving for about six months for work.

He was stunned by an unexpected scene as soon as he stepped inside.

Hundreds of white snake eggs were piled up on a blanket laid on the floor. Signs that snakes had been living in the house were also found in several places.

The scene spread quickly after being shared on Chinese social networking service platforms.

But questions about the authenticity of the video soon followed.

Some internet users said the eggs were arranged too neatly to have been laid by wild snakes, arguing that the scene did not look natural.

Others pointed to the condition of the yellow soil on the floor and suggested that the video may have been filmed at a snake breeding facility and presented as if it were a regular home. Some also alleged that it may have been staged to attract views.

As of now, it has not been officially confirmed whether the video was actually filmed in an ordinary house.

Meanwhile, local authorities said the period from May to August is when snakes are most active in breeding and urged people to take extra care if they leave their homes for long periods.

They also warned that dark, damp homes that are not frequently visited can become suitable environments for snakes to live and lay eggs.
