[Sportschosun reporter An So-yoon] Actor Lee Sang-yoon moved viewers with warm resonance through "Sunim Sonim Soul Trip in India."

Lee Sang-yoon traveled through India with Venerable Pomnyun Sunim on SBS's "Sunim Sonim Soul Trip in India" (hereinafter "Sunim Sonim Soul Trip in India"), which ended with its final broadcast on the 16th, and spent time searching for his "true self." In particular, Lee showed his trademark curiosity by constantly firing off questions about Indian culture and attitudes toward life as soon as the journey began.

From the first day of the trip, Lee showed deep interest in the meaning of practice. As he walked through the alleyways of a Kolkata market, he said, "The liveliness of the people and the energy of the streets were impressive," describing a vivid side of India that could not be seen inside a hotel.

He also took a 12-hour bus ride to Bodh Gaya, the land of enlightenment. Lee was briefly awed by the sheer scale of Mahabodhi Temple, then continued his practice by meditating to steady his mind and climbing Mount Pragbodhi, where he physically retraced the path of Buddha's ascetic training.

His one-on-one question-and-answer session with Venerable Pomnyun Sunim gave both Lee and viewers plenty to think about. When Lee honestly shared his concerns about a series of changes in the production environment, Venerable Pomnyun Sunim said that happiness and unhappiness are ultimately created by each person's own mind. Lee said, "I thought that if I could fully accept the outcome, I would feel much more at ease in every way. I feel like I’ve taken one more step forward in my heart."

Lee also showed lively chemistry as he laughed and shared his worries with No Hong-cheol, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Ki-taek, and Woochan of AllDay Project. He immersed himself naturally in local life while experiencing various aspects of Indian culture, including visits to the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity and the Kalighat Kali Temple. Lee said, "Through my connections with people, I think I learned so much more. Thank you for inviting me on this journey."

Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yoon will appear in the play "The Merchant of Venice," which opens on July 8 at Haeoreum Grand Theater, National Theater of Korea in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.
