[Sportschosun reporter Jung Bit] Choi Mina-su overcame pressure and disappointment to emerge as the most dramatic turnaround story after winning MVP for tvN's Kill It team mission.
In episode 7 of tvN's Kill It, which aired on the 24th, 17 style creators took on the Label Color Team Mission, where they were tasked with producing branding films using each label's key color. The mission was designed so that only the entire winning team could survive, heightening the participants' fierce competitive spirit.
The participants were divided into three labels — Black, White, and Red — and, after developing their own concepts, began full-scale production with the team led by music video director Shin Dong-geul.
The first cracks appeared in the Black Label. Conflicts continued between Bomi, who stepped up as leader, Jiwon, and Olohoyo, and the tension deepened as the dispute remained unresolved until the day before filming. The pressure grew even stronger when Jiwon, not Bomi, was ultimately chosen as the on-site director.
The White Label also struggled. Although they filmed under the theme of "confessing each person's own obsessions," a series of unexpected variables emerged under the tight schedule. In particular, Capri's individual shoot took longer than expected, leaving the later participants with very little time. After finishing her shoot, Choi Mina-su could not hide her disappointment when she checked the final result.
In a later interview, Choi Mina-su said she was disappointed that there was not enough time to properly show the concept she had prepared. She added, "I had heard people say I look like a flight attendant or an announcer, so I wanted to show something much bolder." Holding back tears, she honestly admitted, "I am disappointed because the result was not satisfying."
The Red Label, which featured several strong contenders for the win, also ran into unexpected difficulties. Their concept, "The Story of Red Girls in a Fairy Tale," received high praise, but as they tried to refine the details, they ran short on time and finished the mission without filming some of the planned scenes.
The Black Label maintained a cold atmosphere throughout filming. Bomi, who led the ideas, and Jiwon, who handled directing, clashed repeatedly, and frustration among the team members kept building. After filming ended, however, the two resolved their conflict through an honest conversation. Bomi apologized, saying, "I think I was impatient because I wanted to overturn the evaluation that we were the weakest team," and Jiwon also shared her feelings, leading to reconciliation.
The branding films from the three teams, finally unveiled after many twists and turns, each showed distinct color and quality. The White Label took first place, and the MVP also went to Choi Mina-su. The participant who had shown the greatest disappointment during filming ended up delivering the best result, completing a true reversal drama.
Meanwhile, the candidates for elimination were Kim Bo-woo and Olohoyo from the Black Label, and Yoyo and Uwa from the Red Label. In particular, the Red Label drew attention by taking a bold gamble and naming Yoyo, one of its strongest rivals, as a candidate. Yoyo remained composed at first, but eventually shed tears, revealing her complicated emotions.
Their survival depended on the choices of winning team leaders Cha Jeong-won and Shin Hyun-ji. The two considered eliminating Yoyo in light of the competition, but chose fair play and saved her instead. In the end, Kim Bo-woo, Olohoyo, and Uwa were eliminated, while Yoyo, who survived, was given the right to transfer labels, signaling yet another shift in the competition.
"Kill It: Style Creator War" is a survival program that discovers the next generation of style icons leading K-fashion. It airs every Friday at 10:10 p.m.
