[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young reporter] Actor Kim Nam-hee said, "The visual and mental shock still hasn't faded."
A press and distribution screening for the suspense thriller film "The Eyes" (directed by Yeom Ji-ho, produced by Dream Capture) was held on the afternoon of the 15th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Shin Min-a attended the event after taking on a dual role as Seo-jin, a photographer gradually losing her sight to a hereditary optic nerve disease while investigating the death of her twin sister, and Seoin, her twin sister who overcame visual impairment to become a successful ceramic artist before meeting a mysterious death. Kim Nam-hee also attended as Do-hyeok, the detective who watches over Seo-jin's obsession while helping her track Seoin's death, along with director Yeom Ji-ho.
Kim Nam-hee said, "From the moment I read the script until today, when it was finally unveiled, I worried about whether my character would be properly explained. I tried to work closely with the director and Shin Min-a through a lot of discussion." He added, "I had so many concerns that I even said during filming that I couldn't do it anymore."
He said, "I watched the film for the first time today, and I couldn't quite adjust to it visually or mentally. I laughed because it was absurd, and I also laughed because it was so bizarre. I don't know if it will come across well to audiences cinematically. It is the result of everyone's discussions, and we did our best. Still, the mental shock hasn't faded yet," drawing laughter.
"The Eyes" tells the story of a protagonist who is gradually losing his sight to a genetic disease and comes face to face with the truth while uncovering the mystery surrounding his twin sister's death. Shin Min-a, Kim Nam-hee, Lee Seung-ryong, and Kim Young-ah star in the film, and Yeom Ji-ho of "The Neighbor" directed it. It will be released on the 24th.
